Course duration is on average 100 hours over 4 to 6 weeks. Hence, 16 – 25 hours per week is expected.
All course materials other than consumables are provided. There is no need to purchase textbooks.
The courses are geared towards careers in water and wastewater treatment, laboratory skills, equipment and chemical sales and research participation.
For the Intermediate Certificate in Water Operations, the minimum requirement is a Secondary Education completion certificate or equivalent and /or experience as a treatment plant operator or laboratory technician. Candidate without a Secondary Education certificate may need to pass an aptitude test.
For the Senior Certificate in Water Operations, the minimum requirement is a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Science, Environmental Science, Civil or Process Engineering or other qualification deemed appropriate. Alternatively, completion of the Intermediate Certificate in Water Operations.
Students who require online resources have access to them via the student portal (login required).
